About Asian Students in America

We were founded in the Fall semester of 1997 by four Asian students who felt there is a need for an Asian students organization at University of South Florida that could represent the Asian-American students at USF and provide fellowship and support between the Asian-American Students. All four students were new at University of South Florida and all had different ethnic backgrounds. They found out that there are several different cultural organizations at University of South Florida, but they are specifically tailored to meet the need of specific ethnic groups. A new Asian organization was needed to bridge the gap between various Asian organizations and to bring together students of different backgrounds who like to meet other students from different background or culture.

Our purpose is to serve as a unified community where students of various ethnic backgrounds may come together to promote unity, fellowship, professionalism and help promote a stronger Asian cultural awareness. We serve as the "umbrella" organization of several Asian-interest organizations at the University of South Florida and welcome every individual with an interest in Asian culture to our community!
